"Man oh man, 'Dr. Menlo.' Now there's an alternative blog. Kindness to animals, Seattle anarchists, nudism galore, SubGenius, anti-Bush black propaganda, jeez louise, Doc, that thing sure is happenin'." --Bruce Sterling, Schism Matrix

"Ye fucking gods!! Are you nuts!? Those Jesuit bastards will eat you alive!" --Hunter S. Thompson, to me, circa '93
"Money is the opposite of magic. Art is magic. The worlds of art and money are constantly intermingling. To survive this mixture the magic in art has to be applied in new ways. Magic must always triumph." --Keith Haring

. . . didn't Dick Cheney vote against letting Nelson Mandela outta jail? Didn't Cheney also vote against placing economic sanctions on South Africa? . . . Of course, those very same economic sanctions which were placed on South Africa way back when which helped to end apartheid would be illegal today under the WTO--which 'both' parties wholeheartedly support. Cheney also voted against the Clean Air and Clean Water Act--who could be against clean air and clean water? (Of course that's anti-clean air and water for the poor people--obviously, his family will always have clean air and water.)
. . . Now how could a racist, anti-clean air and water Good Ole' Boy rise so far in America? How, indeed.
"Lawyers and members of the legal support team were shocked and outraged by brutal police assaults on protesters at the World Economic Forum, last night. Witness statements and observations by the legal support team documented the following account of the police brutality, including the use of potentially lethal force. Without warning or any attempt at negotiation police attacked a peaceful blockade outside Crown Casino this evening. The ferocity and violence of the attack was the worst seen so far in WEF protests marred by police violence. Police charged through and over the protests wielding long PR-24 side handled batons, striking protesters over the head and body."
"There are no venues like this for women, this intersection of public sex and fast food. Sometimes I feel like a naked waitressother times, a quarter-operated social worker. Its not so unlike other jobs. I punch a time clock, look forward to my breaks, and then I go home. But I love it best when my friends and I are howling with merriment in the shadow of Hammering Man.
"I have yet to come up with a reason to quit. Ten or 12 hours a week I strap on some improbable shoes, and paint my lips pouty. The laughter of the ladies keeps me young, vibrant. Ill never be sorry I took the Lustys dare."--Erika
Here! Here! My honey works here! I am so proud of her!
. . . Her moniker, btw, is "Catwoman Natalia"--we are kindred spirits, me and her. I told her: "Well, if they would pay me to dance naked in front of a buncha masturbating women . . . I'd do it."--we are kindred spirits in more ways than this, however . . . more soon.
Last Sunday on "60 Minutes" Chinese President Jiang Zemin was interviewed by Mike Wallace--Wallace got all holier-than-thou on Zemin about America's "2 Party System"--showcasing Mike's oncoming senility [the '2 Party System' is a ONE PARTY SYSTEM, DUH--where debating is NOT ALLOWED] . . . also of note is the fact that while Wallace got all high and mighty over America's 'Democracy'--he never once asked Jiang Zemin about Tibet, or the Dalai Lama's recent exclusion from the United Nations religious leaders convention [toy-girls and boys shipped in for that one!] . . . Especially after the numerous Police State tactics used against Human Rights Activists in Seattle, DC, Philly and LA [an Indy Media tv show was shut down by the cops and the corporate media didn't even BLINK], can we really hold our 'American Model of Democracy' up to China's and declare ourselves that much superior?
Case in point: Jiang Zemin referred to the Tianamen Square Democratic Protests as a "disturbance". This morning on National Public Radio (possibly via local Seattle affiliate KUOW especially; I wuz just waking up), what were the Seattle Anti-WTO protests referred to as?
